Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, believes his tenure will “definitely” be evaluated on whether he leads the team to its first Champions League championship, even though he “doesn’t agree” with that assessment.

Since Guardiola became manager in 2016, City has won nine significant trophies.

Nonetheless, he was questioned about whether or not winning Europe’s top cup competition would define his stint.

The Spaniard, 52, added, “I’ll be evaluated on it. It doesn’t mean I agree with it.

“Many said I was coming here to win the Champions League before my first match [with City].

“I asked, “What? ” I’m not sure, but I’m okay with it. No matter what I go through, nothing will change.
